Eight amino acids at the C-terminus make up the classic FLAG sequence Asp-Tyr-Lys-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys. Additionally the motif Asp-Tyr-Lys-Xaa-Xaa-Asp is repeated 3-times in the peptide sequence.
The 3x Flag-tag synthetic peptide may be used, for example, in competitive elution of Flag-epitope tagged recombinant proteins from affinity columns.
