RGD-Peptide cyclo(RGDfC)

The RGD-Peptide cyclo(RGDfC) peptide is a synthetic peptide that has the amino acid sequence:

RGD-(D)Phe-C in a head-to tail-cycle

A cyclic RGD tumor-targeting peptide, which binds to αvβ3 integrin receptors. These class of receptors are most promising therapeutic targets because they are overexpressed on the actively proliferating endothelium of tumor tissues and are determinants on angiogenic endothelium. Cyclo(RGDfC) can be easily conjugated to drugs via Cys.
